Happy First Birthday Emma!

I still remember the day very well that Emma came into my life. She was born Sunday morning, May 18, 2009, at 7:30 weighing 8 lb. 15 oz and measuring 21 1/2 inches long. She had a head full of dark hair, 10 fingers and 10 toes, cute cheeks like her daddy, angels kisses on her forward, stroke bites on the back of her neck, and a cry that would melt any one's heart. I am blessed to have her as my daughter. I love her more than I thought I could love someone. There are not to many moments in my day that I don't think of her.

We celebrated her one year birthday on Saturday. We went to the park and grilled hot dogs, played on the playground, celebrated with our family and friends, and went to ride the train. The big boys even played ball. She got lots of great gifts from her family and friends. She got money, shoes, books, a travel car for outside, a Dora ride along, clothes, her own remote for the TV, a swing, puzzles, a basketball goal, a pottery barn chair, crayons, and a digger dog. We thank all our family and friends for coming and joining in the celebration of Emma.

On Sunday Rob and Emma were baptized. This was a symbolic and meaningful experience for both of them. Emma was beautiful in her gown as you can see. In addition to the baptism Rob, Emma and I joined the church. The congregation was thrilled.

Monday was Emma's actually birthday. Rob and I took off to spent the day with her. We had a wonderful day. We left town and went to Roanoke to the Mill Mount Zoo, and we ate at the Olive Garden for lunch. Emma loved the animals and walking all by herself through the zoo. She was sad when we left...big tears rolled down her face. I think Emma is an animal lover. We came back home and Nana, Goddy, Uncle Bernie, Aunt Beth and Anna-Grace wanted to meet for dinner. So off we went to the Outback...let's just say we were full.

Our weekend was marvelous. We had beautiful weather, family time, lots of celebrations, and most importantly quality time with Emma.

Happy Birthday Emma!

We are so blessed to have you as our daughter.
