Happy Birthday Sheila

We want to wish She-She a HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Emma's First Christmas

Well our first Christmas with Emma was wonderful. We had so much fun with her. It all started on Christmas Eve in Covington with Grandma and Grandpa Lane. They spoiled her with great gifts and lots of love. One of her gifts was a refinished chair that belonged to her daddy when he was a kid. I think that the chair was her best gift from them.

Christmas morning came very soon for Rob and I. We got home from Covington a little before 10 pm. Got Emma to bed and then the work of Santa began. Emma slept in until 6:30 and the fun began again. Santa was very good to Emma. Luckily Santa gifts were not wrapped so she could tear right into the playing. Opening Mommy and Daddy gifts was a lot of fun for her-the paper was the hit.

Later Christmas Day we headed to Nana and Goddy's house. Once again Emma had many gifts to open. Aunt Beth, Uncle Bernie, Anna-Grace, Aunt Meme, Uncle Brian, Nate and Matty came home. It was wonderful for us all to be together on Christmas Day. That has not happened for a couple of years.

On Friday we went to Aunt Susan, Uncle Scott, Ashley, Amanda, and Will's house for dinner and Christmas. It was nice having the whole family together. The food was great and the kids had a ball.

All in all our Christmas this year was memorable. Rob and I are so thankful for Emma and our family. We hope your family had a blessed and happy Christmas like us.

Finally Ready for Christmas!

Rob and I finished wrapping the last gifts at 11 o'clock this evening only because today we finally finished with the shopping. If any of you know me this is very much not me to be working on buying and wrapping this close to Christmas. We are usually done by the second week of December. We have decided to do much better next year.

All in all we are ready to have our first Christmas with Emma. It will be memorable and very special to the both of us. We are truly blessed. This Christmas will be even more special because we will get to celebrate Christmas on Christmas day with both of my sisters, my brother in-laws, my nephews and neice. Nana and Goddy are very excited too. Tomorrow we travel to Covington to have Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa Lane. They too are very excited!

Rob, Emma and I want to wish all our family and friends a very Merry Christmas. Check back in in a couple of days to see what Emma got from family and Santa.

Where are all the presents?

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Happy Birthday Anna-Grace

On Dec. 13th we celebrated Anna-Grace's birthday. She turned two on Dec. 1. We went to Chucky Cheese and had a great time. Earlier that day Rob, Emma and I went to a Christmas party with the Ray's. This was Emma's first time sitting on Santa's lap. As you can see she really liked him.

Having Fun at a Holiday Party

Oh, Christmas Tree!

We put up our Christmas tree and Emma loved it! Hopefully it will stay up intact with all the ornaments on it.

We Elved Ourselves!

Every year Office Max offers a fun little activity for the holiday season, so we decided to Elf our family. Rob and I did this last year and we couldn't resist doing it again with Emma included. We welcome your comments and funny remarks because you have to be able to laugh at yourself. I think we look cute. Click below to see our elf video.

Look at me, I'm standing!!!!

We had heard from our babysitter Esther that Emma had held onto her coffee table and stood up a few times, but we had not seen it ourselves. Imagine mommy's surprise when she went into Emma's room to get her out of the crib, and she was standing up holding the rail!! Mommy grabbed the camera and camcorder and was able to get some video of her standing, looks like we have to lower the crib mattress now!!!

Happy Thanksgiving

Emma celebrated her first Thanksgiving. It all began at Nana and Goddy's Tuesday night. Rob went hunting so Emma and I had a sleep over at Nana and Goddy's. On Wednesday, we ate a big feast prepared by Nana and I-we had so much food they will be eating leftovers for days. That evening we met Dean and Theresa (our dear friends from Georgia) for coffee. They were passing through to see their son Matthew in Washington D.C. Thursday morning, Emma and I drove to Covington to see Grandma and Grandpa Lane for another Thanksgiving feast. Daddy was so happy to us and we were happy to see him. Besides the great feast in Covington Emma crawled for the first time. It was only a few moves at a time but we were lucky to get it on video. After Emma crawled she got to hold the camera that we used to entice her with to crawl. She took a great picture of herself.
We were sad that this year we did not get to see Meme, Brian, Nate, Matthew, Beth, Bernie and Anna-Grace. We did talk several times over the weekend to stay in touch but it wasn't the same.
All in all we had a Happy Thanksgiving. We say it often that we are so blessed to have Emma and of course we will say it again. She is the most wonderful part of our lives. We can't imagine what our lives would be like without her.

Six Months Old

Emma is six months old. Rob and I can hardly believe it since we feel like we just brought her home. Rob and I are truly blessed to have her in our lives. She makes us smile everyday and when we are not around her we are anxiously waiting to get back to her. Her personality is the cutest. She sputters at us, squeaks at us, laughs at us, and slams her face into ours for hugs and kisses (that is the best feeling). Emma is a very happy baby. She wants to move and is really working hard at getting on her knees and hands on her own. Eating time is awesome--she loves every food we have given her. We started introducing the green foods. We only have peas left to try. George and Briggs excite her. She pulls on their fur, tails, and ears. They simply go with the flow.

First Snow

We got our first snow of the season. It snowed less than one inch but I had to get a picture of Emma sitting in the snow. Since it was early in the morning I bundled her up in her pjs, hat and sat her on a towel. We can't wait for a big snow to make our first snowman.

More Food Please...

Emma loves her fruit and vegetables. She has been introduced to all the fruit and only has green beans and peas left to try. She wants to hold the spoon herself and when she does it is messy. She also tells us when we are not feeding to fast enough. With her two lower teeth she bites down on the spoon and won't let it go. That is funny.

Voting Day!

Emma went with her Mommy to vote for the next president. I waited in line for 45 minutes to cast my vote and Emma slept through the whole thing. We took pictures after she woke up. I think she was excited about the sticker. She wanted to hold it and mostly eat it.

Emma's First Wedding

Last weekend we went to Covington for a wedding. Samantha and Kurt who are family friends were married. Samantha is the daughter to Rob's dear friend Charlie who passed away last December. The wedding was beautiful and they had beautiful weather. It reminded me of the day Rob and I were married not quite two years ago. Emma wore an adorable dress with tights and dress shoes. Unfortunately the shoes did not want to stay on. The cute bracelet she has on was given to her by Sheila. We took a picture of Kurt and Emma with Sue's camera but we don't have a copy of that. Emma paid $1 to dance with Kurt. He thought that was so sweet.

Happy Halloween

Emma's first Halloween began by heading to Nana and Goddy's. There was just one problem...
We got Emma the cutest costume. She was to be a bumble bee until we put it on and realized that she had already outgrown it. Luckily, Nana had a back up costume. Though she started off as a bumble bee she ended up being a Winnie the Pooh Hunny Pot. We went trick or treating in Patricia's neighborhood. Bailey, Riley, Leah, and Emma were so adorable and happy. Emma was excited through the whole dress up time and picture taking time. Unfortunately, 10 minutes into our 2 hour trick or treat adventure she fell asleep and didn't wake up until we returned to Patricia's house.
