First Date Since Emma

Rob and I took our first date since Emma was born. My mom and dad were so kind to watch Emma for us. Actually they were very excited. Anytime they have grandbaby time they are happy. We decided to go to Hull's Drive-in in Lexington. This drive-in has been opened since before the 1950's. It is now run by volunteers and I must say they do a wonderful job.
Our date was very fun. The weather was nice and the movie was good. We saw Swing Vote. Since we go to bed shortly after Emma goes to bed we weren't able to make it through the second movie. Not only that but we wanted to get back to Emma. We only called once to check on Emma, but we talked about her and wondered if she was missing us. I wish I had a picture to post but Rob and I forgot to take a picture by the drive-in sign.
If you like going to the movies you should check out this drive-in. It was worth it.

Rob and I took Emma for her 3 month pictures. Emma did very well for her first professional photo session, but I believe it wore all three of us out. Our appointment was at 11:30 and we didn't leave until 3.

Emma is a wonderful baby. Everyday she brightens our day and makes us laugh.

A New Baby Colt

Finally, our horse Overture delivered her baby. I received the call at 5:30 a.m. from Nana who was relieved that both mama and baby were okay. He was born in the wee hours of the morning. My dad has had the walkie-talkies on for weeks waiting and listening for the big moment. Unfortunately, when he heard Overture stirring around 5 a.m. he went down to the barn to find a healthy colt nursing with his mama. Brian, Nate and Matthew came in town on Tuesday and got to be a part of the celebration. Nate especially has been anxiously awaiting the arrival of this baby and how awesome that he was here on the day he was born. We don't have a name yet but we will soon.

Tummy Time and Sitting Up

It is hard to believe that Emma is 3 months old. It seems like yesterday that Rob and I brought home our one week old daughter. She is growing so much, changing everyday, and is a true blessing to us. Just like being in the water Emma likes to be up so the idea of sitting up was something new and exciting for her. From two weeks of age Emma has worked on building strong muscles with tummy time. She can push her chest up with her elbows and hands. She is simply amazing. Her daddy and I are so proud of her. As you can see in the last picture all the exercises and photo shots wipe her out. Even George wanted to be in the picture.

Water Park Fun

This past Monday we went to the Massanhutten Water Park. Emma, Nana, Goddy, Uncle Bernie, Aunt Beth, Anna-Grace and I went to have fun. It was Beth's birthday and also the day before I had to return to work, so we wanted to celebrate with fun. Emma couldn't ride any of the slides but I know one day she will. She enjoyed the lazy river and the kiddie pool. Aunt Beth and Bernie really showed off at the surfing area. If you haven't been to the water park at Massanhutten I can say it is worth it! As you can see it wore Emma out!

Beach Time

Emma took her first trip to the beach last week. I believe she is a water baby. She loved it. We traveled to Sandbridge, VA Beach. It was beautiful-warm and sunny. We met Aunt Meme, Uncle Brian, Nate and Matthew. We played at the beach, laid by pool, played our favorite game-Putt-Putt, played bingo at the local fire department-Brian won a game, and had nightly competitions on the Wii. We loved it so much we want to go back next year.

Giggles & Grins

A couple of nights ago Rob and I were sitting on the sofa with Emma just talking and playing with her...a nightly routine we love. All of the sudden she let out the biggest laugh. Of course her daddy and I were so excited I think we scared her. Rob quickly ran for the video camera but it was too late Emma had stopped laughing.
Today Goddy (Emma's Granddaddy), Emma and I were sitting on the sofa when all the sudden she let out another big laugh. This time I didn't miss it. I quickly got the camera and had Goddy record while I made goofy sounds and laughs at Emma. As you can see in the video she thought her Mommy was funny.
Emma has a beautiful laugh!
